Celltei Lite Backpack-O-Pet
This dog carrier is made to order. The following is the development process:

Katey: I got the Lite yesterday, and already have a few observations for you. First off, I really was impressed by the lightness, even if you think it needs to still lose some weight. The second thing I noticed is that with my 19 lb beagle, the shoulder strap causes the carrier to bend in the middle quite a bit. However, if I use the hand carrier as a shoulder strap, there is no problem because of where they are attached. The adjustability of the hand carrying straps is nice. Probably the biggest problem that I noticed was that the snaps on the support panels unsnap frequently. I think it might be due to how flexible the fabric is, because neither of my other Cellteis unsnap that much. However, when the Lite snaps do unsnap, they are also easier to re-snap. With the Tote, I have to take Abra out of the carrier and mess around with it for a little bit before I can get the snaps aligned properly to snap them.

There is one thing I don't understand on the carrier. Why is there a D ring on both the door flap  and the top of the carrier? Are you supposed to clip both of them to the shoulder strap? I think one on the top would be fine. I will be putting the Lite to some heavy use so I can tell you how the fabric wears. By the way, I absolutely love the color!!

Celltei: Yes, by hooking both the D-Rings together, the weight of the carrier will be shifted to the base. The D-ring and the webbing on the roof won't break as easiy. The snap button has been a recurring situation on the medium size. We don't know if it is the lastest batch of snapped button or really the contact. We are testing one with a velcor strip at the of the panel as a way to back up the support. We may have to do this in the future for all medium size. We do expect the fabric is less likely to wear that well. It will be great info to us as to how long. Any more comments will be appreciated.

Katey: I have been putting the Lite through some pretty hard paces. I've been using it every single day since I got it. So far, the only wear I have found is all the way around on the bottom edge. The little plastic "feet" on thebottom of the carrier are worn like they're touching the ground, but the edges of the bottom all around are still worn. I really think that a rim of tougher material around the whole bottom edge (probably not the bottom itself), maybe even only a centimeter wide, would help alot. None of the seams any where else on the carrier are showing any sign of strain. The snaps on the support panels are still popping off all of the time. I'm going to try to see if my mother can sew on some velcro to see if it helps. Do you have any specific questions you wanted answered about how it's working?

Celltei: Asked for clarification on the plastic "feet" and if a patch around the bottom corner can help.

Katey:
1. The plastic support studs (feet) are not really worn at all. I was just mentioning that when I look closely, I can see tiny scratches andscuffs on them, like they are definitely making contact with the ground. I just wanted you to know that the edges of the bottom were still contacting the ground, despite the studs being there.
2. I wish I could show you where the wearing is the worst. Corner patches (depending where they are placed) would take care of the worst of the wear. The next worst wear spots are actually in the centers of the edges (if that makes any sense).
3. The only time that the carrier caves in is if I carry it with the shoulder strap, even when both D-rings are clipped on to the strap. Itis so bad that I do not use it, ever. It bends so much in the middle that there is no way Abra could be comfortable. When I want to carry it over my shoulder, I use the hand strap instead over my shoulder, and itis perfect. Doesn't cave in at all.

Celltei: Inquired about the 'cave in' situation when the carrier is used as a backpack.

Katey: The onlything that changes the carrier's shape with backpack straps or handstrap is when the snaps on the panels pop off. It's not bad enough to bother Abra too much though. If the snaps didn't unsnap, it would notchange shape at all when being carried how I do now. I think that evenif the snaps were fixed (with velcro or whatever), it would cave in in the center with the shoulder strap in use.

Celltei: One possible solution is to use thicker plastic bar or aluminum on the roof but will add a few ounces to the weight.
